The Medas Islands (in Catalan: Illes Medes) are an archipelago located in the Mediterranean Sea formed by some seven small islands and some islets off the coast of Catalonia (northeast of Spain). It has an approximately surface of 21,5 ha. It has a seabed, favored by its proximity to the mouth of the River Ter, which attracts numerous researchers who study it every year making this maritime reserve one of the most important in the Mediterranean and the largest in extension of Catalonia. The longest island of the group is the Grande Meda. They are declared as ZEPIM.

Some names of the islands of this archipelago are the Medallot, the Meda Meda, the Ferrenellas, the Tasco fat, the small Tasco and the Bernardo Horse.

The archipelago was declared PNNP (National Protected National Park) in June 2010 due to the great diversity of marine fauna and flora, among which are the common ray (Potamotrygon potamotrygon) and the red coral (Corallium rubrum).

Even so, furtive fishing and, not so frequently, smuggling, have meant that various police controls have to ensure the fauna and flora of the Medas Islands.
